1. Who These Terms Apply To
These terms and conditions apply to any solar panel and battery installation package ("the Package") purchased from Scotch Score Holdings (Pty) Ltd, CIPC registration 2025/257893/07 ("Scotch Score Holdings", "we", "us"), by a client ("you") through our website or directly with our sales team. By paying for a Package, you accept these terms in full.
2. Packages and Pricing
- We offer three fixed-price solar packages, as described on our Solar Installation page at the time of purchase: Tier 1 (3kW Basic Backup), Tier 2 (5kW + Battery), and Tier 3 (8kW + Battery).
- Each Package price is all-inclusive of the panels, inverter, battery (where applicable), mounting hardware, cabling, surge protection, labour, and the electrical Certificate of Compliance (CoC), as listed for that Package at the time of purchase.
- Prices are quoted in South African Rand and include VAT where applicable.
- We reserve the right to update Package pricing and specifications from time to time. The price and specification confirmed to you at the time of successful payment is the price that applies to your installation.
3. Payment
- Full payment for your chosen Package is due once-off, in advance of installation, via Payfast.
- We do not offer deposit-only payment, monthly instalments, rent-to-own, or financing arrangements. There is no credit check.
- Your Package is confirmed once payment has been successfully processed and reflects in our account.
4. Choosing the Right Package
Each Package page describes the appliances and household size it is designed to support. It is your responsibility to select the Package that matches your household's electricity needs, based on the information provided. If you are unsure which Package is right for you, we encourage you to contact us before purchasing.
Please note: a Package is sized for typical use as described on our website. Actual performance may vary depending on your specific appliances, usage patterns, weather, and grid conditions.
5. Site Conditions and Installation Scope
- Package pricing assumes standard installation conditions — a roof and DB board in typical, accessible condition, and standard cable run lengths.
- If, on inspection at the time of installation, your property requires work beyond the standard scope of the Package (for example, unusual roof structures, DB board upgrades, or non-standard cable runs), we will inform you of this and provide a separate quotation for the additional work before proceeding. You are not obligated to accept additional work, but installation of the standard Package may not be possible without it in some cases.
- You are responsible for ensuring safe and reasonable access to your roof and electrical distribution board on the day of installation.
6. Certificate of Compliance
Every installation includes an electrical Certificate of Compliance (CoC), issued by our registered Installation Electrician or Master Installation Electrician upon satisfactory completion and testing of the installation.
Please note: Small-Scale Embedded Generation (SSEG) registration with your local municipality or Eskom, where applicable to your grid-tied system, is not included in our Package and is the client's responsibility to arrange.
7. Installation Timelines
We will confirm an installation date with you after payment is received. While we aim to install within a reasonable timeframe, exact scheduling depends on factors including your location, weather, and hardware availability. We will keep you informed of any delays.
8. Warranty
- Installation workmanship is covered by a written workmanship warranty, the term of which will be confirmed in your order confirmation or installation contract.
- Panels, inverters, and batteries carry the manufacturer's own warranty. We will assist with facilitating manufacturer warranty claims for hardware supplied as part of your Package.
- Warranty does not cover damage caused by misuse, unauthorised modification, acts of nature, or work carried out by a third party after installation.
9. Cancellations and Refunds
- If you wish to cancel your order before installation has begun, contact us as soon as possible. Cancellation requests will be considered on a case-by-case basis, and any refund will take into account hardware already ordered or committed on your behalf.
- Once installation has commenced, the Package is considered delivered and is non-refundable, save for any statutory rights you may have under South African consumer protection law.
10. Limitation of Liability
To the extent permitted by law, Scotch Score Holdings' liability arising from a Package is limited to the price paid for that Package. We are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, including loss of electricity savings or business interruption, except where such liability cannot lawfully be excluded.
11. Changes to These Terms
We may update these terms from time to time. The version published on this page at the time you make payment for your Package is the version that applies to your purchase.
12. Governing Law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of South Africa.
